Ancilla Ashley Kiirby

Junior Chamber International (POS) Trinidad - President

Ancilla Kirby may be small in stature, but she has a great passion for service burning in her. The love she has for helping others deserves this recognition.
Ancilla is passionate about philanthropy, politics, empowerment of young women. Her mantra is: “in order to find yourself, you must lose yourself in the service of others.
- Mahatma Gandhi
She realised her passion for helping others when she worked in the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services starting in 2012. At the Ministry, she had a lot of interactions with the public in need of assistance with grants and community outreaches.
Ancilla is from Success Village, Laventille, and use her life experiences to fuel the fire to assist others and offer solution-oriented approaches. To help achieve this she has embarked on sustainable community impact projects for public education.
She was recently accepted to pursue Law at UWI Cave Hill Barbados because she believes this would strengthen her activism.
Though labels have been placed on persons of Laventille, Ancilla is not limiting herself to this but defying the odds to show that there is good which arises from the community that can impact positively.
In 2015, she joined the Laventille People’s National Movement’s Youth League and accepted the office as Field Officer. She was given the Chairman’s Award for “Her Servant’s Heart”
