Born with profound hearing loss, Toronto human rights lawyer and disability advocate Lorin MacDonald is deeply committed to her vision of an inclusive Canada, using her voice to promote accessibility and inclusion for over three decades. Among her many initiatives is HearVue, a social enterprise that fosters communication inclusion at in-person and virtual events with subtitles and captions. In 2021, Lorin's name was added to two prestigious national lists: Canadian Lawyer's Top 25 Most and Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100. In 2022, Lorin is a nominee for Canada's Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers for the third consecutive year. Also, the Law Society of Ontario granted her its esteemed Law Society Medal for her significant contributions to making the legal profession more inclusive to people with disabilities and outstanding service following the highest ideals of the legal profession.
