The nominee is at the forefront of advocacy for accessibility and inclusion of blind and partially sighted persons and other persons with disabilities across Jamaica. The nominee developed the new work item proposal that has been approved by the bureau of Standards Jamaica and would lead to the development of accessibility standards The principal subject areas expected to be covered by this suite of standards are terminology, performance requirements, technical specifications, guidance documents, audit, and validation requirements for

2. Information and Communication Technologies (Priority)
3. Communication (other than information and communication technologies)
4. The procurement of goods, services and facilities
5. The design and delivery of programs and services
6. Transportation.
