Zoe Mahfouz

Zoé Mahfouz is a member of the "Collectif 50/50" (a network of film professionals promoting equality and inclusion) but also a supporter of the HeForShe movement (a solidarity campaign initiated by the UN Women for the advancement of gender equality and the empowerment of women) and a supporter of Women Make Movies (a non-profit media arts service organization established in 1972 to address the under representation and misrepresentation of women in the media industry, including women from different cultures, as well as by LGBTQI women, older women, women with disabilities and women of color.).
Zoé also published two short films on her YouTube channel dealing with the topics of street harassment and domestic abuse, highlighting issues women face in the shadows, on a daily basis. Her latest feminist video “Breaking News” is an Official Selection at the 2023 Annual Women’s Films Challenge.
She took part in several charity runs fighting against heart diseases and for the inclusion of people in need.
Zoé Mahfouz also volunteered for a while at The Red Cross, a french independent charity founded in 1864. She was serving food to the homeless and playing board games with them.
Zoé is a firm believer that women are stronger together and she takes action in her daily life, whenever she happens to be the witness of mansplaining, manspreading or harassment.
