Sandra studied in Quebec, in the Montreal region, and graduated from nursing school at Vanier College in 2001. She went on to complete her DEC in nursing at the University of Montreal and worked for three years in bedside nursing at the Jewish Hospital of Montreal. Her initiative and ability to develop opportunities led her to take on roles with increasing responsibility, including nurse educator and nurse liaison. Sandra furthered her education with an MBA in Leadership and a DESS in Pharmacology. Known for her autonomy, quick learning, and strong leadership, Sandra has always been driven to innovate and exceed expectations, even within the constraints of routine tasks. Her problem-solving skills and influence were recognized by many of her directors at the end of her clinical research career. With the same audacity and vision, Sandra pursued her entrepreneurial ambition by founding Filo Import. In just a few years, she led her company to sign partnerships with global corporations such as Disney, Mattel/Fisher-Price, Crayola, Warner Brothers, Nickelodeon/Paw Patrol, and Marvel. At the same time, she remained dedicated to giving back to her community. As a philanthropic entrepreneur from the start, Sandra demonstrated that any business—regardless of size or revenue—can make a positive impact. She supported the medical community and pediatric causes from the outset, contributing time, resources, and determination. Through her work on committees, fundraising, and charitable events, she showed that companies can get involved and make a difference. Sandra’s entrepreneurial success has earned her numerous accolades: the 2019 Gala Vision prize (Women's Business category, Les Moulins Chamber of Commerce), finalist for the 2019 Quebec Business Women Prize (New Entrepreneur category), the 2020 TOP 100 (BMO Entrepreneur WXN Network category), and the Gala Vision prize in 2021 and 2023 (Women's Business and Business Personality of the Year categories). She continues to be an inspiration within her company, industry, and the communities she serves.
