CANADA EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLAN

Canada Emergency Response Benefit

The government of Canada will provide a taxable benefit of $2,000 every 4 weeks for up to 16 weeks to eligible workers who have lost their income due to COVID-19.

FUNDING and LOANS

BDC – Business Credit Availability Program

Canada Emergency Business Account

  • For small businesses and not-for-profits with a 2019 payroll between $20,000 and $1.5 million
  • Up to $40,000
  • 0% interest until December 31, 2022
  • If the loan is paid off by December 31, 2022, a quarter of the loan will be forgiven

BDC Co-Lending Program for SMEs

  • Up to $6.25 million
  • Differing maximum finance amounts based on business revenues
  • 80% of financed amount provided by BDC and the remaining 20% by your financial institution
  • For your operational cash flow requirements
  • Available until or before September 30, 2020
  • Financial institutions are progressively rolling out program details starting April 24, 2020.

EDC Guarantee for SMEs

  • Up to $6.25 million
  • 80% guaranteed by EDC, to be repaid within one year
  • For payroll and operational costs

BDC Oil and Gas Sector Financing

  • For Canadian-based oil and gas producers, oilfield service companies and midstream providers
  • Funds to be used for operational cashflow and business continuity purposes
  • Qualifying businesses must have been financially viable and in good standing prior to the current economic environment
  • Loan size between $15 million and $60 million
  • Offered at commercial rates, repayable within 4 years
