SupportHER Champion

Meet Faisal Karmali, talk show host, business analyst for CTV and 770 CHQR. Faisal is also the Portfolio Manager and Investment Advisor for Popowich Karmali Advisory Group.

Faisal has been working with people and their wealth management for over 20 years. The ability to help people reach their financial goals is what drives and motivates him. Helping them see results in their life is what moves him. His No.1 long-term career goal is to have a legacy in his wealth management practice that helps people achieve their retirement and financial goals. Not only is this a wise goal but educating and people on their retirement is a tool many can utilize.

In the last eight years, Faisal has closely worked with Monica and the Universal Womens Network in personal and professional manners. He acknowledges that women during key points in their life (divorce, death, and retirement) are in need of a team of professionals to assist them to get through the stage of life they are in. His short-term goal is to help his clients in any fashion while continuing to build his practice towards his long-term goal.

Faisal believes that to build healthy communities and a thriving country you need women to make it happen. “By men working with and mentoring women, we are able to help build a better society for the long-term. We know leadership is for both sides. Men championing and empowering the women not only in business and work but in their personal lives, should seek as many avenues as possible to step up and take leadership, explains Faisal.

Faisal’s team is a good and strong mix of men and women. He knows diversity is key, and it benefits their clients and practice. Faisal believes in order for men to be part of the solution they need to understand there is a problem, be a part of the solution, an active participant to help, while building and maintaining a solid future for generations to follow. This is a society he wants to see his daughters in. Faisal is the father of two daughters, aged 12 and 9, so choosing to be a SupportHER member within Universal Womens Network means he can show his daughters how important it is for the men in their lives to support all their dreams and ambitions.

Women (even today) in general take on a big brunt of the work outside of the office. From raising families to caring for the elderly, women take a lead role in this. Organizations need to understand and build strategies to remove barriers, so all can be active members of the company and in their families. It should not be one or the other situation. Bridging the gap and seeing companies and corporations being gender-equal cultivates flourishing and vibrant workspaces.

As a father and professional, Faisal knows what obstacles women face and wants to help as many as he can overcome those obstacles, and it’s for that reason Faisal decided to SupportHER!  This (SupportHER) membership offered empowers both men and women, and it’s imperative to acknowledge that men and women can strongly work together.”

Become a SupportHER and show you empower women in your network, workplace, and community.
