There’s always a way around everything. Just because it’s harder or just because the way forward doesn’t seem so clear, that doesn’t mean there isn’t a way.
When I worked at a non-profit with at-risk youth, the best advice I could give them was: The best way to gain experience is to volunteer. Everyone’s always looking for volunteers. If there’s something you’re interested in but you’re not sure if you want to try it out, volunteer first. You’ll try it out, you’ll know what you want to do, whether you like it or you don’t like it. And really, you’re not committed yet, you’re just trying it out.
Just remember, there is no one way to do anything. You don’t need to limit yourself to the conventional way. Know what the opportunities are and take a chance!
