The need for a Procurement department at Canadian Western Bank Financial Group (CWBFG) was determined many years ago, however this did not come to fruition until Rachel Lemos came on board in February 2020. As soon as Rachel landed in Edmonton, she wasted no time in establishing key relationships in the organization to promote the Procurement departments goals and provide standardization in processes and policies to ensure the highest security protocols were followed to protect our clients.

When Rachel started she was a team of herself and saved the bank almost 1 million dollars in a 9 month period. Rachel was able to build a department from the ground up, while working remotely through a pandemic crisis which was an enormous challenge to over come.

Together the Procurement Team continues to make tremendous impact to the organizations processes and continues to establish huge savings to the bank by her keen negotiation skills. Her leadership skills have been noticed and admired by many; she is a great asset to our organization. Rachel has inspired me to learn new things, and approach things head on. Her leadership is second to none, and I am very grateful she joined the CWBFG team.
