BILLIONAIRE SUCCESS STORY: 1:1

EP28 – Fred Fishback – President and CEO, Javeline Learning Solutions | SupportHER

Did you know there are billions of standardized tests administered each year in education and industry? There was actually a time when they relied on a bubble form, a number 2 pencil, and an optical scanner. While VR, AI, quantum computing, and petabytes of storage are commonplace concepts today, there was a day when a floppy disk, holding 360 kilobytes was the bleeding edge of technology. Armed with a floppy disk, some programming skills, and one of the earliest desktop computers, Fred wanted to change the way tests were administered and scored. No more paper booklets, test forms, or #2 pencils.  And, no more waiting weeks to get results. Take the test. Get the results instantly.  That was his first global success story.  As technology moved along,  something else was brewing. Computers were becoming networked with blazingly fast—-or so everyone thought back then—-300 and 1200 baud modems. Computers could talk to each other and send data across long distances. What if test data….those millions and billions of pieces of test data collected around the globe could instantly find their way back to a central repository for rapid consolidation, organization, analysis, and intelligence? Hmmm. Big test data. Instantly collected, rapidly analyzed.

That was version 2.0 of Fred’s story, followed by version 2.5, leveraging the internet for these tasks. Today, the story continues. His newest venture…scaling one-on-one relationships across the globe to make learning more personal and effective, improve healthcare in the home and facilitate a personal, global advisory team of talent for each person.

No retirement on the horizon for Fred. No slowing down. Throttle-up!
