Hi there,

I’m nominating Hannah Yohannes as a Woman of Influence (Inspire Award) because she uses her filmmaking gifts and talents to educate and advocate for her community. For example, as a program coordinator, she transformed the Ve’ahavta Skills Academy (VSA) program which is a 9 week essential skills program from an in person class to a digital online training program due to COVID-19 being announced as a global pandemic.

This is one of the several moments in which Hannah shows her adaptability and dedication to her community members. She also uses her platform as a filmmaker to advocate for those who feel voiceless and mentors youth in the Presenting Our Vision film program on the power of storytelling and highlighting the importance of representation in the media industry.
