Articles Marigold Mioc Ahonen

Marigold is 12 years old and is a Youth Ambassador for United Way Calgary, Gems for Gems, Apar Initiative and 1Girl. She is a 2019 Diana Award recipient and 2021 Alberta Council for Global Cooperation 30 under 30 award winner. She has had a social enterprise called “Marigold’s Heart Garden” since 2015 and has donated around $10,000 to help others. She regularly volunteers with Love with Humanity Association, helping with their outdoor food banks and the delivery of food hampers. In 2020, she created a video about the United Nations Convention on the rights of the Child to bring awareness to children’s rights through her fellowship with HundrED, an international group which focuses on innovations in education. She is an international speaker, having spoken in Africa, Europe and North America. She is a pageant titleholder, an actor and a model, having walked in fashion weeks around the globe.
