Diana Cuervo - BIPOC Leader Award
Blackstone - Principal
Diana is the embodiment of a star leader. Since she was a child, she has made it a mission to empower women around her. Her contagious energy, earned confidence, and empathy have put her at the top of every group she’s been a part of, though she never acts as if she’s above the rest. Diana moved to the US as a teenager knowing no English. She attended UTSA on scholarships and working three jobs at a time, and still earned a 4.0 in both her Bachelors and Masters degrees. She served as her school’s top leader, Ms. UTSA, chosen based on merit, all while she was co-leading a non-profit called FTK (for the kids) raising funds to support kids suffering from childhood cancer. She has also excelled in her career, and has been promoted early as her work ethic is intact, and less than a decade into her career she manages a team, of which half are women, and is a portfolio manager covering almost $100bn in AUM. She started a scholarship fund to help Hispanic/Latin women pay for college, and she serves on the board of a non-profit that helps underprivileged children learn sports.
